About La Grange

Close to the village, yet surrounded by mature shrubs, fruit trees,vines and forests. The Grange is an ideal place to relax and wind down. It has a superb country setting, but is only 3 km (2 miles) from the village. So you can walk or cycle.
La Grange offers comfortable outside seating for 6 people.
The ground floor of the property is dominated by the vaulted living areas. Keeping cool even in the full heat of the Provencal summer, this area offers a perfect retreat if you've had enough of the sun for a while. The fireplace is a working one, but due to fire danger cannot be used in the summer.
The kitchen is modern and fully equipped as you would expect from a rental of this quality and there is a full-size refrigerator in the pantry. The Grange has a comfortable feel which you sense the moment you enter the property. Because of its age and nature of its construction we know that the property was well designed. As a result, the interior remains cool throughout the year.

Lourmarin is considered as a chic yet quaint village with many restaurants, cafés, antique shops and galleries, all found amongst the narrow winding cobblestone alleys. It is a pleasure to wander through the lanes with their vine-clad walls and mature plane trees. Fridays in Lourmarin are dominated by the large market, possibly the best in Provence.

Situated in the heart of the Luberon National Park, and just 15 minutes over the hill from Bonnieux, Lourmarin's numerous outdoor cafes, boutiques, art galleries and fine restaurants sets it apart from many other villages in the region. Lourmarin is renowned as one of the "Most Beautiful Villages in France".

The magnificent Château de Lourmarin, dominating the local landscape. The village of Lourmarin is probably most closely associated with the name of Peter Mayle, the author of best-selling books such as "A Year In Provence" and "A Good Year" (the latter of which was adapted for the big screen by Ridley Scott, starring Russell Crowe and Marion Cotillard and filmed mainly in Bonnieux), but was already a favourite destination for tasteful travellers well before this new-found fame. Despite the high-profile residents and visitors the village has seen over recent years, it has refused to become a tourist hotspot and has done an incredible job preserving its authenticity and its charm, two words which probably best define Lourmarin.
